The Southern Bank Announces New Hires in Deposit Operations


Spartanburg, S.C., August 9, 2022 – The Southern Bank announced today the new leadership of its deposit operations team. Michael Arrington and Ann Miller have been named Senior Vice President and Assistant Vice President of Deposit Operations respectively. 

Before joining The Southern Bank, Arrington was a Senior Vice President at CresCom Bank, where he worked for 20 years until United Bank acquired CresCom in 2020. He managed conversions and projects focusing on data, mobile banking and business mobile banking deployment including Mobile Deposit Capture. Arrington was tasked with managing merger-related activities to include: deposit account conversion, debit card conversion, online banking conversion, bill pay conversion, and customer communications.

Miller, like Arrington, was a Vice President, Data Center and Item Processing Manager at CresCom Bank before joining The Southern Bank. She has 30 years of experience in core processing, payment processing, statement production, document imaging, operations management, electronic banking, and fraud detection. Miller’s responsibilities included implementing new processes for various systems including integrated tellers, cash recyclers, mobile banking, transaction management, web capture, and electronic banking.
