Spartanburg, S.C., August 1, 2022 – The Southern Bank announced the opening of its first South Carolina branch in Greenville. The new branch is located at 101 Cleveland Street, Greenville, S.C. 29601.
“We are proud to officially open our first South Carolina branch to customers,” says Scott Frierson, President of The Southern Bank. “Greenville is my hometown and the community in which many of our employees have lived for generations, and we look forward to serving this community with modern banking solutions and with our personal service and a touch of southern hospitality.”
The branch is located in the downtown Greenville area across the street from Sirrine Stadium. The bank has renovated the space to create offices, meeting spaces, and a safekeeping room with deposit boxes. This location includes a double-lane drive-thru, ATM, and a night drop. The Greenville branch will provide services including business and consumer checking and savings accounts, loans, and treasury services focusing on developing the Greenville market with loans and deposits.
The Greenville branch opening accomplishes the goal of filling the Community Banking gap in South Carolina with new branches across the Upstate region. The bank is beginning renovations on the newly acquired Spartanburg location this month and plans on opening its doors to the public by the end of the year. The company’s digital banking platform provides customers an omnichannel banking experience for business and personal accounts, allowing them to bank from anywhere, at any time.
